I will be away on vacation for the next two weeks, and during most of that time, I will not have internet access. (I’m not sure yet whether this will be bliss or torture.) Family Affair Friday will return on Friday, June 7.
I thought about rushing through the next couple of entries so they could post while I’m away, but I’d rather take the time to do the episodes justice.
When I return, I will be reviving some of this blog’s other features, including Spin Again Sunday and Weird Words of Wisdom.
Thank you for reading and for your patience!
And, to avoid leaving you empty-handed, I present this–a hint about how I’ll be spending my vacation. (Sadly, though, I don’t think Elke Sommer, Halston, or even Richard Gilliland are likely to make an appearance.)
Shoot me one of those drinks, Isaac.
I don’t believe it! There is a pretty successful TV series in Germany – running since 1981 and never to be ending – called DAS TRAUMSCHIFF (The Dream Boat) which obviously is based on THE LOVE BOAT. And the German export Elke Sommer being in it. I always thought the DREAM BOAT to be so very German!!!
I wish you a wonderful and restful vacation! Take care.
Wow, since 1981, that’s amazing! Our Love Boat only lasted nine years. It was pretty bad, actually, but it did help to popularize cruising as a vacation for the masses.
Yeah, but there are only very few episodes per year, maybe two or three, which are frequently re-aired. According to Wikipedia, there has been a total of 69 episodes since 1981. The German version is very cheesy, too, but has very nice landscape pictures.
Isaac was always my fave.
Have fun!
